Austin Progressive Potluckers: Concert in the Park hosted by the Hartman Foundation
And now, for something completely different...
Departing from our usual hosted format, this month we're taking advantage of a fun, free and festive forum that's family-friendly and fostered by a foundation!
Potluckers are encouraged to head on out to the Hartman Foundation's "Concert in the Park" this Sunday, June 26, 7:30 p.m. at the Long Center City Terrace.
The Austin Symphony will perform big band music and everyone is encouraged to bring a blanket and a picnic dinner. The Potlucker crew will get there a bit early to score a patch of grass on the left-hand side of the lawn as you're facing the Long Center. We'll try to have a sign, flag, balloons or something to indicate our spot. But this event draws hundreds of people, so you'll want to get there in plenty of time so you can get a good spot to sit. And this time, instead of bringing a dish to share, folks should bring whatever meal and beverages (and eating utensils of course) they'd like to enjoy themselves. So while we all might not be able to meet together in typical Potlucker fashion, we'll all get to share in the community spirit and enjoyable music at this free and laid-back event.
Check out the website below for all the details on the location, parking, etc.:
We hope to see you there! It will kinda be like our first Potlucker flash mob. Oh, wait, that would require some kind of social media. We still use yahoo groups, for goodness sake.
Bring whatever meal and beverages (and eating utensils of course) you'd like to enjoy yourself rather than a potluck dish to share.
Free Parking is available at One Texas Center located on Barton Springs Rd. @ S. 1st St.
