CASA Volunteer Info Session & Dinner

Date:
Tue, 03/04/2014 - 6:30pm to 8:00pm

CASA of Travis County speaks up for children who’ve been abused or neglected by empowering our community to volunteer as advocates for them in the court system. When the state steps in to protect a child’s safety, a judge appoints a trained CASA volunteer to make independent and informed recommendations in the child’s best interest. CASA volunteers come from every walk of life and share a commitment to improving children’s lives, a willingness to learn, and an open mind towards life experiences different from their own.

Sun, 12/15/2013 - 9:00am to 5:00pm

Please come out to actively learn how to build a perennial food garden. Many studies have found that the best way to learn is by doing. You along with many other members of the Central Texas community will be building this system together. It will be a living example for future residents and visitors alike of the permaculture community Quilombo Paixao. Let's do this!

The schedule of this blitz is generally as follows:

Clean Lady Bird Lake

Date:
Sat, 06/08/2013 - 9:00am to 11:00am

Join Keep Austin Beautiful for the summer fun cleanup of Lady Bird Lake!  Cleanups of the lake happen every other month throughout the year and offer a wide range of locations to clean.  If you're looking to get out on the lake on a kayak or paddle board, sign up for one of our waterway cleanup sites!  If you would like to bring your family or stay dry, sign up for a shoreline site!

Permablitz at the Austin EcoSchool

Date:
Fri, 01/18/2013 - 9:00am to Sat, 01/19/2013 - 5:00pm

This will be the first of many Permablitzes throughout Austin. These two days we need about 20 volunteers to help install the start to a full functioning food forest and Permaculture learning area for the kidos. Kirby Fry will be leading these Permablitzes now and in the future. Bring your friends if you can attend. The more the merrier!
