DBL The Brew in Max’s Pot

Wed, 09/18/2013 - 7:00pm to 9:00pm

Guest presenter: Pliny Fisk III, M. Arch, M.L. Arch, Co-Director and Co-Founder of Center for Maximum Potential Building Systems

Many of you know of and perhaps have visited the Center for Maximum Potential Building Systems (“Max Pot”), an internationally recognized education, research, and demonstration organization. This Austin-based gem has been promoting sustainable building and living since 1975!  Join DBL to learn more about what “The Center” is up to…

Yesterday morning was the Drip Irrigation Demonstration at Linda and Kurtis Colonna's lovely home in Manchaca. The plan was to install two irrigation systems, one at what I am calling the "Tropical Hook," and the other at the swale and berm they built at the corner of the yard where the driveway meets the street, which I'm calling the "Angle Berm".

Theron Beaudreau around the world permaculture work presentation

Sat, 08/17/2013 - 8:00pm to 11:30pm

Instead of the traditional-untraditional movie night we're going to have a showing from our Professor Primate's (Theron Beaudreau) permaculture work overseas. Over the past 2 years, Theron has visited several projects on various continents and accumulated a wealth of interesting pictures, movie clips and knowledge. This will be the first time Theron has presented any of this material to the public and we're super excited to have the opportunity to host!

Introduction to Permaculture

Sat, 08/24/2013 - 8:00am to Sun, 08/25/2013 - 5:30pm

Join us for 2 days of fun, practical, hands-on Permaculture education. This course will give you down-to-earth knowledge of how to apply permaculture principles in any setting.

Permaculture uses whole system thinking to design productive environments that replicate the resiliency, diversity, and stability of natural systems. Through the framework of Permaculture we can design for abundance and empower ourselves towards more sustainable choices.
