Clean Sweep 2017 presented by Samsung

Each April, Keep Austin Beautiful hosts Clean Sweep, a city-wide service day spanning 150+ sites in 31 zip codes throughout Austin and resulting in over 30 tons of trash removed by 4,000 plus volunteer who contribute 8,700 combined service hours. The network of cleanups is followed by a not-to-be-missed volunteer party featuring free t-shirts, lunch, live music, children’s environmental activities, recycled art, a unique object contest, door prizes, and more!

Starry Starry Night - The 11th Annual Diamond Chefs Gala

Students from the Texas School for the Deaf’s (TSD) Culinary Arts career training program, under the guidance of Executive Chef, John De Souza and staff, of the downtown Hilton Austin, will present a premier dining experience on May 5 for the 11th annual Diamond Chefs Gala, “Starry, Starry Night”.

Guests and sponsors are the stars at this unique event – a fundraiser for the TSD Foundation – which includes a wine-paired menu guaranteed to excite your palate and astounding entertainment as you meet and mingle with the student Diamond chefs of TSD.

Keep Austin Crossing

On Saturday, April 30th from 2-4 pm, the Guerrilla Gals will hold an event called KEEP AUSTIN CROSSING at the intersection of MLK and Chicon in East Austin. Keep Austin Crossing will be a celebration of pedestrians, with the main motivation of making our streets safer for ALL users. To accomplish this, the Guerrilla Gals plan to design, produce, and implement temporary "creative crosswalks" and bring in local musicians representing various styles to create a festive atmosphere for people crossing the street.

Join us at Scissortail Microfarmsin creating explosive abundance with a weekend permablitz! This site had its original Permablitz done 3 years ago, so you can see how things are doing and learn from the owners' mistakes and successes.

• Come for as little or as long as long as you'd like for the event.

* The Permablitz will be 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. Watch for updates in the case of severe weather (but we are pretty tough!)

• Breakfast and lunch will be provided on both days. Dinner will be provided for campers.
