Theatre for the Very Young

Join us for a unique theatrical tour led by University of Texas graduate students in the School of Theatre and Dance!
Why are we here in the museum today? What are we looking at? Designed specifically for our younger visitors and their families, we invite you to join us on an adventure through the museum, following friendly character guides with fun problem-solving and material-based activities through our permanent collection.
Unwind after the 30-minute gallery experience engaging with tactile materials inspired by our artworks in the newly re-imagined Meredith Lounge.

Learn how Austin’s Grackle population served as inspiration for his 37-foot kinetic sculpture, CAW, and how the notion of a cuckoo clock with 20’ pendulum became the artist’s expression of these intelligent black birds for the new Central Library.

Free Film Screening: Mahabharata

Experience the opulence of Ancient India in a rare public screening of the 1985 adaptation of Indian Epic, 'Mahabharata'.

Directed by Peter Brook, the original stage play was 9 hours long, then reduced to a 6-hour TV mini-series, which later became this cinematic version of 171 minutes.

Art After Six - "The Eyes of Texas"
